Great for weddings and special events alike (and voted one of Vancouver’s Top Golf Venues for Weddings) the Vancouver Golf & Country Club, sets a beautiful setting for nature enthusiasts that prefer to stick close to urban amenities.  Nestled in the trees in bustling Coquitlam, B.C., this golf club gives visitors lots of natural beauty with some city views to boot.  What a great location to host that special event.

For example, this past July, we were asked to provide chair covers for the Aga Khan Foundation’s gala dinner at the Vancouver Golf & Country Club in Coquitlam, B.C.  The theme: bling.  The purpose: fundraiser.

When we were asked what we could do to work within their theme, we suggested stark white banquet chair covers with white spandex bands adorned by a “bling” ring ( a rhinestone cuff).

As it turns out, that was the perfect suggestion as the white chair covers worked well with the white ceiling lanterns and the “bling” ring played against the crystal candle holder centrepieces and mirrored table squares perfectly!

A successful display for a successful event.  Congratulations!

Are you unsure how you would like to decorate your event?  Try choosing a theme.

Having a theme, whether it is based on colour or motif, is an excellent launch pad to the day’s overall feel.  Case in point, we were recently asked to provide chair covers for a bar mitzvah at the Congregation Schara Tzedeck in Vancouver where the theme was to be the “Simpsons” TV show.

Since the show uses mainly prime colours in its animation, the chair covers we provided reflected that simplicity: black regular banquet chair covers with plain yellow spandex bands.  These were the perfect choice to compliment the various “Simpsons” characters that adorned the tables and favours.

The centrepieces were a perfect compliment to the theme:  the “Simpson” family standing atop an illuminated light box, holding a table card depicting yet another beloved character from the show, while white balloon “clouds”, suspended from the ceiling, completed the decor.

Kudos to Cathy from “Only the Best” decorating for making this little boy’s vision a reality and for making this event a huge success! .
